What Is Black Hat SEO

Black Hat SEO refers to all such techniques which are adopted by internet marketers to improve rankings of a website, but which are all unethical. There are many companies which do not approve such techniques but many others love to use such techniques to improve the rankings of their website. These techniques usually have some characteristics which make them unethical.

Most of the Black hat SEO techniques are known to break the basic rules and regulations of search engines. These techniques create a very poor user experience since a few irregular and unethical techniques are utilized in the website, which does not make the visitor comfortable. These techniques are known to present content in an unethical way using various kinds of non visual and visual ways of search.

Most of such techniques are legal but internet users started over using them in their practices which became unethical. If any website is caught using various spammy techniques it usually gets penalized. Black hat can be a short term solution to increase the rankings of a website, but it cannot be a long time gain.

Keyword stuffing is the most common black hat technique. Keywords are packed into a website content making the content very weird and meaningless. Users are not benefited anyway by reading such content. Invisible text is another commonly used technique to attract the spiders of search engines. This is done by placing a whole list of keywords in white text and on a white background. This is done with the hope of attracting the search engine spiders. Doorway pages are also another black hat technique which should be avoided. This is actually a fake page, which the user is never able to see. This is a way to cheat the spiders of search engines so that they index a page much high than it actually deserves.

Black hat SEO can be very tempting but internet marketers should remember that these tricks do not work in the long run. It might seem to be an intelligent trick but it is actually not. The website will soon get penalized for unethical practices. It is actually not worth taking the risk.
