SEO Tactics – Tweaking Your Website

seo_targetSearch Engine Optimisation (SEO) is a full time affair – it does not get ended with some attention to the contents and key words but it involves dedicated scrutiny of the websites and pages in question. What clicks with the audience and what does not, can be determined only with research and reports, along with a lot of mixes and matches done over different sets of key words. While that may sound a complex task, all it requires in reality is tuning one’s websites to the keywords that are sought after, in an exercise called “Tweaking”.

As a webmaster, it is important to keep track of all the links and visits that your website gets. If analytics can do the job for you in getting you the data, to process it and turn it into information that works requires studious pruning of web pages.

If you have been tracking the keywords that have been getting you the traffic in of late, you know which keywords strike a chord with the audience and which ones convert into traffic. Once you have identified the right set of keywords, go through your website content to see if more of the keywords can be incorporated into it. Sometimes, all it may require to get you visitors is a little bit of adapting your content by injecting a set of keywords, in place of words that may not be as successful.  For instance, if your content has “football” in it, you may be surprised to find “Football Transfer News” getting in a lot more visitors, which “Football” alone couldn’t fetch. All you may have to do is, then, to tweak your content to inculcate “Football Transfer News” alongside “Football”.

This simple tactic can also be used to increase hits to web pages that have a record of fewer hits. Tweaking the website with the right keywords and providing appropriate links to guide visitors to pages that may otherwise be missed, would go a long way in your SEO Strategy leading to the right results.
